Our history
For 60 years caring donors have supported Catholic values and works in Manitoba through gifts with us.
The Foundation was established in 1964 through the leadership of the Knights of Columbus and an initial donation of $10,000 from the Manitoba State Council. Since then, large and small bequests from various estates, along with ongoing donations from the Knights of Columbus State and local Councils, other organizations and hundreds of individual donors from all walks of life have helped to grow the Foundation’s capital funds through the years.
Except for nominal administrative costs, donations and fundraising activities have been directed to establish permanent capital endowments whose annual income is disbursed as grants in support of charitable religious, educational or service organizations whose activities are in keeping with the Catholic tradition.
The collective power of our caring donors’ thoughtful generosity has resulted in over $2 million in grants being provided to date to charitable organizations whose service strengthens the influence of Catholic values in support of the common good in Manitoba.
